NOTES FOR NEW APPLICANTS:

Membership is open to both serving and retired members of the Civil Service and Public Services, including local government, education and the health services, members of former nationalised industries and public bodies, and members of the armed and protective forces who subscribe to the objects of the society and have an interest in writing. 
 

£20 annual subscriptions fall due on 1 January (£27 if you wish to join the Poetry Workshop).  

‘Rolling’ programme for members joining later in the year (Poetry Workshop remains at £7 irrespective of your joining date)

Members joining between 1 January and 31 March pay £20

Members joining between 1 April and 30th June pay £15

Members joining between 1 July and 30 September pay £10

Members joining 1 October onwards pay £5.

Members continue to pay again on 1st January the following year: £20

The main expense of the Society is the publication and distribution of our quarterly The Author.
